Christian Podcasts I Listen to (Updated)

As Christians, it is important to continue our walk with Christ everyday and cultivate our relationship with Him. This can be done not just by attending Mass or church service, Bible studies, and any church activities. Of course those are important but just as important are the things we do and consume on a daily basis. What we watch and listen to informs our conscience and beliefs. When we are constantly bombarded with secular, and especially morally reprehensible entertainment (whether we realize it or not), it will draw us further and further away from God. As a solution, I have made it a point to seek non-secular entertainment. They not just nourish my mind and allows me to do other things while consuming their content, they also nourish my soul. My brothers and sisters in Christs, I am so excited to present to you the Christian podcasts I listen to. You can click the names and titles and it will lead you straight to their page. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••...

My Childhood Favorite Christian Music

background photo taken from Pinterest Growing up, my mother would often play different kinds of music--usually in the morning, and sometimes in the afternoon. Music just fills the air of our house with joy and different moods. Although mama had a wide range of interests, she often played Christian music, especially on Sundays. Even on other days she sometimes listened to it. That inculcated in us (especially for myself) a reverence for God through the entertainment we listen to. The words are just beautiful and brings joy and peace. It is like a warm soup on a cold evening; a glass of cool water after a long walk; a warm embrace when we needed it most. Most importantly, it drew me closer to God and invited me to read the bible and learn more about Him. On this post, I would like to share to you the different albums which formed my childhood interest in Christian music. I will also share some lyrics and favorite songs for each album. Hopefully they will also speak to your heart and long...

Evil Eye and Hamsa Hand? No thanks, I got the Bible

Lately, I have been seeing posts shared on social media about the evil eye: mothers putting this emoji when they post their babies' picture; when people share about their dreams and aspirations, and when they manifest. Usually they pair it with the magic/sparkle emoji and the hamsa hand. As a Christian, the growing number of these posts is alarming to me, especially that I've noticed most of the posters are unsuspecting Christians who are probably just following the trend. I am writing this blog to give a warning to my brothers and sisters in Christ about this deception. Before I proceed, please know that this post is not to shame or condemn anyone but to inform them. What is the evil eye? The evil eye symbol is used to ward off variations of evil intentions. It is a charm that is used for thousands of years in cultures in Latin America and parts of Asia. Most New Agers practice this. New Age is an Eastern spirituality/ mystic belief. It has practices that is considered occu...

Cultivating Inner Beauty

There was a line from one of my favorite books that asked, "How many people have you met whose outward attractiveness was appealing and totally captivating? However, after getting further acquainted with them their external beauty faded to invisible." How true these lines have proven to be based on my experience! Being visual beings, we do admire physical beauty. Whether we like to admit it or not, physical appearance are awfully important to make good first impressions. However- that's all there is to it- first impressions. More often than not, first impressions often leave no lasting impression. It's superficial and easily forgettable, especially if we get to know the person behind the physical attractiveness and discover that their inner being is not synonymous to the beauty that they appear to be. It is a challenge, therefore, to us Christians to not be too concerned with outward beauty but rather, we ought to cultivate our hearts. This serves as my self-remi...
