Ciao a tutti.
Qui potete trovare uno studio che ho scritto su Giant Steps, famoso brano del grande John Coltrane.
Lo studio vede degli arpeggi che si estendono in due note per corda e che attraversano tutta la progressione armonica del pezzo. (2nps)
Questo tipo di arpeggio è davvero molto utile per massimizzare la visione della tastiera del nostro strumento, specialmente quando si utilizzano per connettere strutture armoniche come questa in questione. In questo caso (struttura armonica con frequenti cambi, ogni 2/4 c'è un accordo diverso ) ci si trova spesso senza delle vere e proprie diteggiature (shapes) di riferimento. Non abbiamo molti riferimenti poichè la cosa interessante è che con la chitarra possiamo suonare e ripetere la medisima nota in posizioni differenti, quindi potremo scivolare da una posizione per andare su un'altra che inizia dalla stessa nota ma in una parte differente del manico. Avremo la necessità di pensare alle note che stiamo suonando. Questo massimizzerà la nostra visuale e la nostra memoria relativa alle note che costituiscono gli accordi.

GIANT STEPS 2NPS MIXED ARPEGGIOS ETUDE + VIDEO
Here an etude that I wrote using two notes per strings arpeggios (2nps arpeggios) on the famous song Giant Steps by the one and only John Coltrane.
I find them to be really helpful in expanding our view of the freatboard, especially when yopu have to connect harmonic progressions like this. In this case (we have a complex harmonic structure with two chords per bar) we almost don't have any referring shape. We do not have referring shapes because one of the greatest thing about guitar is that we can play the same note in different places of the neck, so we can switch from a shape to another that start with the same note but in a different place. You have to think about the notes that you need in the way to maximize your visualization of the freatboard and being more focused on the guide tones of the chords.
