Adventist Health System Agreed to Pay $628,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services in Spaces Not Identified for Clinical Use or Supplemental Outpatient Services
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Adventist Health System/West, Hanford Community Hospital d/b/a Adventist Health Selma, and Adventist Health Tulare (collectively, “Adventist West”), Roseville, California, agreed to pay $628,319.25 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Adventist West submitted claims for outpatient cardiopulmonary services in spaces within its Tulare facility that were not identified for clinical use or supplemental outpatient services pursuant to state licensure requirements and permit guidance for these services. OIG also alleged that Adventist West submitted outpatient cardiopulmonary and outpatient infusion services in spaces within its Selma facility that were not identified for clinical use or supplemental outpatient services pursuant to state licensure requirements and permit guidance for these services.
