Official NPC Wellness Division Rules

NPC MEMBERSHIP

Each competitor must be a member of the NPC.

NPC AND IFBB PRO LEAGUE CRITERIA FOR JUDGING WOMEN’S WELLNESS COMPETITORS

1. Criteria for Judging Female Physiques:
   • Muscularity – the amount of muscle will vary between the divisions
   • Condition- will vary depending on the division
   • Symmetry and Balance
   • Presentation (Posing)
2. Wellness
   1. Wellness athletes should display-
      • A foundation of muscle which gives shape to the female body
      • Full round glutes with a slight separation between the hamstring and glute area
      • Small amount of roundness in the delts
      • Conditioned Core
      • Overall look- hair, makeup, suit, and tan
   2. Wellness athletes should NOT display –
      • Muscular density seen in a figure physique
      • Squared glutes
      • Muscle separation seen in figure competitors
      • Graininess
      • Striations anywhere

 

1. CONTEST FORMAT (JUDGING):

1. 1. Competitors are called onstage in groups in numerical order and, under the direction of the head judge, perform a front and back pose.
   2. Each competitor is then called onstage individually in numerical order and has up to a maximum of 20 seconds to perform a routine. The routine consists of front and back poses.
   3. All competitors are then called back onstage and line up on diagonal lines at stage left and right. Center stage is left open for the callouts.
   4. The head judge then directs selected competitors through the callouts, where the selected competitors are compared against each other in the front and back turns. The number and placement of competitors is at the discretion of the head judge.
   5. Under the direction of the head judge, the Model Walk is performed as follows:

• • • from a front pose, turn 180° towards the rear of the stage and adopt a back pose
    • walk to the rear of the stage and pause
    • turn 180° towards the front of the stage and walk back to the centerline

2. CONTEST FORMAT (FINALS):

1. 1. Each competitor may be called onstage individually in numerical order in a two-piece bikini and high heels and will perform their routine as instructed by the expeditors.

1. 2. Depending on the number of competitors, the head judge and promoter may decide that only the top finalists shall perform their Model Walk.

1. 3. If a confirmation round is required, the competitors shall be called onstage and, under the direction of the head judge, compared in groups while performing the front and back stance.

1. 4. For the overall title only, the top finalists shall perform the front and back stance under the direction of the head judge.

 

3. SCORING:

1. 1. The Judging is scored 100%. The Finals are scored only if a judged confirmation round is required.

1. 2. Ties are broken using the Relative Placement method.

Height Classes

Two classes:

Class A – Up to 5’4”
Class B – Over 5’4”

Three Classes:

Class A – Up to 5’4”
Class B – Over 5’4” up to including 5’6”
Class C – Over 5’6”

Four Classes:

Class A – Up to and including 5’2”
Class B – Over 5’2” up to including 5’4”
Class C – Over 5’4” up to and including 5’6”
Class D – Over 5’6”

WELLNESS CHECK-INS

Wellness division competitors will be checked in and measured the same as Fitness, Figure, Bikini and Women’s Physique competitors.

All suits will be inspected at the check-in’s. Every competitor must wear their competition suit under their clothing to check-in’s for inspection. If your suit is not inspected you will not be permitted to compete. No Exceptions.

If you change your competition suit from prejudging to finals and the judges deem it not to conform to the rules you will be directed to leave the stage. No Exceptions.
