About the Artist

Meg Kemble (they/them), is a New England actor and teaching artist specializing in Shakespeare and classical works.

Recent credits include the title role in Hamlet (North Corner Theatre), Angelo, Measure for Measure (Prague Shakespeare Company), and Judas, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (In Death's Company).

They also appeared in The Only Way Out is Through, a short film directed by Nicole Catania, which premiered at the Manhattan Film Festival earlier this year; and was intimacy consult for Lysastrata, directed by dear friend and mentor, Gary Meitrott.

Meg has studied with with Shakespeare & Company (Lenox, MA), the Prague Shakespeare Company, and was a returning member of the Shakespeare on Main Street company of Vermont for many years. Their training includes work with directors such as Lisa Wolpe, and her work in cross gender playing, Dennis Krausnick, Suzanne Dean, and Samantha Kauffman.

  1. Meg was delighted to be part of'The Only Way Out is Through', directed by Nicole Catania, (photo above), which debuted publicly in June of 2024 at the Manhattan film festival. The short film was nominated five times at the Montreal Independent Film festival, and received a win for best indie film at the Vegas Film Festival.

  2. Currently in training as an intimacy coordinator, Meg was called on as a consult for a production of Lysastrata in April of 2023. They were very pleased to be able to offer the tools and knowledge they have, helping to keep the space safe, and communication open, as actors navigated the humour and delicate content alike for this production. 

In the same month, they wrapped production for an indie short film through Audacity Productions titled, 'Well F*uck", filmed out of Bennington, VT.

Partnered with local businesses, the piece has toured upper Berkshire county for three years now over month of December. All profits from ticket sales are used to pay the actors first, and then, in alignment with the values of the script and story, used to donate to a charity of choice, including The Trevor Project (2025), Hot Plate Brewing's Hearth and Home campaign (2024), and PCRF (2024/2023).

The 2024 production featured the new addition of live percussive sound to back the dynamic ensemble of five actors playing all roles.

Meg plans to continue to tour and adapt this production annually.

They gained stage combat experience in both productions, their production of Hamlet featuring Viking short sword and shield.

  6. In April of 2022 Meg had the pleasure of training with Lisa Wolpe on cross gender playing in Shakespeare.

  7. In March of 2020, Meg paired with East Line Theatre to produce Bard in The Yard, a Shakespeare in the Park inspired project encouraging at-home performances and readings of Shakespeare during the pandemic.

Meg wrapped a production of Much Ado About Nothing in February of 2020, playing the role of Hero.
