📀 Create a Galactic Mandate Live USB with BalenaEtcher
For a straightforward and reliable way to create your installation media, we recommend balenaEtcher. It’s a free, open-source tool known for its simple three-step process and built-in validation to ensure your USB is created correctly.

Why Use balenaEtcher?
Simple & Safe: Its clear interface helps you select the right drive, minimizing the risk of accidentally erasing your computer’s hard drive.

Validated Flashing: It automatically checks the written data, giving you confidence that the USB will boot successfully.

Cross-Platform: Works on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Step-by-Step Guide
⚠️ Important: This process will erase all data on your USB drive. Please back up any important files first.

Step 1: Download the Tools

Download the Galactic Mandate Linux .iso file.

Download balenaEtcher from its official website: https://www.balena.io/etcher.

Step 2: Prepare and Launch

Insert a USB flash drive with at least 8GB of free space.

Install and launch the balenaEtcher application on your computer.

Step 3: The 3-Step Flash Process
Inside Etcher, follow these three steps in order:

Select Image: Click “Flash from file” or “Select Image” and choose the downloaded Galactic-Mandate-0.3.iso file.

Select Target: Click “Select target.” Carefully choose your USB drive from the list. (Etcher typically hides your main system drives for safety).

Flash!: Click the “Flash!” button to begin. The process will take a few minutes, and a progress bar will keep you updated.

Step 4: Completion
Once complete, Etcher will show “Flash Complete!” and validate the data. Your Galactic Mandate Live USB is now ready to use.

Important Note About USB Drive Capacity
After flashing, your USB drive may appear to have a very small capacity (e.g., only 2MB) in your regular file explorer. This is completely normal. The Linux ISO creates partitions that some operating systems cannot read. The boot files and the rest of the system are there and will work correctly when you boot from the USB.
