As the creator of the Quantified Citizen app ("QC App"), Quantified Citizen is committed to protecting personal information and complying with applicable privacy legislation. QC App allows users to collect information and gain insights on themselves related to physical and mental health. This Privacy Notice explains our privacy practices. By using QC App, you are agreeing to our Privacy Notice and terms of use. If you do not want QC App to use or disclose your personal information in the ways identified in this Privacy Notice, you should not use QC App.

Quantified Citizen Technologies Inc. ("QC") is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Notice explains our privacy practices. We will comply with the British Columbia Personal Information Act (PIPA). You may choose to use the QC mobile app, website or related tools (together our "Services") to contribute to public knowledge while getting personalized insights. Who's conducting this study?

This study is being conducted by Dr. Zachary Walsh, an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia.

Collecting Personal Information

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide through the QC App, including health-related survey responses, cognitive assessment results, and basic demographic information. All data is anonymized at the point of collection.

By using our Services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Notice.

Using and disclosing personal information

We use personal information to provide our Services, conduct research, and improve user experience. We may disclose anonymized, aggregated data in published research.

Who can see your personal information

Only authorized QC staff and approved researchers can access data, based on their role and a need-to-know basis. All data is anonymized.

Retaining personal information

Data will be kept for 5 years following publication of the research, at which point the data will be securely deleted.

We rely on you to provide accurate information. You may update your information through the QC App at any time.

Location of Services

All data is encrypted and stored on servers located in Canada.

Securing Personal Information

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your personal information. No data is stored locally on your device.

Employment Information

When you apply for a job with QC, we will collect personal information related to your application. Details regarding the management of employee personal information can be obtained by contacting our Privacy Officer.

Individual access

You have the right to access your personal information held by QC. Contact our Privacy Officer to request access.
