The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at UC Merced is dedicated to educating a new generation of engineers and researchers through a strong foundation in physical sciences, mathematics, computing, and engineering technology. Students are exposed to state-of-the-art research techniques, methodologies, and equipment as they develop critical reasoning, technological expertise, and communication skills. The program prepares students to solve real-world problems in areas such as green energy, surface science, mechanical modeling and synthesis, robotics and mechatronics, control systems, and aerospace/aeronautical engineering.
