Labour Codes signal waning agency for workers
Labour Codes signal waning agency for workers
Labour reforms: The new Labour Codes 2025, replacing 29 laws, promise ease of compliance but may weaken protections for informal and migrant workers. Higher thresholds, fixed-term jobs and diluted inspections risk widening the gap between State and workforce.

Holding our ground: Work Fair and Free in 2025
đ 2025 has been a year of learning, growth, and holding our ground. Over the past year, we expanded into new labour geographies, working towards change in the everyday lives of workers while engaging with the wider labour ecosystem to inform systemic shifts. From Odishaâs tribal villages to Bangaloreâs industrial hubs, our work has continued to span both ends of the migration spectrum. As we step into a new year, we remain grounded in the lived realities of migrant and informal workers. Looking ahead to 2026, we move forward with sharper questions, deeper solidarities, and an unwavering commitment to Inform, Inquire, and Influence. đ¤ We thank everyone who engaged with us and continue to work alongside us to build a fair and free world of work. To learn more about our work and achievements in 2025, read the article linked in our bio. đđ #WorkFairAndFree #2026 #Migration #Informality #MigrantWorkers
