I'm curious and furious about the Church of Scientology. I generally don't care about the beliefs of any church or religion, as long as they don't tread on the beliefs of others. Strangely, I don't think CoS has beliefs akin to most religions. I think they have some terrible policies and practices. - They claim to make the able more able, but they really prey on the less able - They force children to interact with and take confession in the form of auditing from adults who often have perverse and predatory intentions. - They neglect and abuse the elderly when they can no longer provide the labor needed, this abuse includes financially bankrupting and isolating them from family and the world in general. - They cover up crimes perpetrated by their members (Danny Masterson) Seaman said Scientology is not a “cult” because its members are not controlled by who they can or cannot talk to, nor are they “sequestered” by the church. Unless you include: forced disconnection.
