The University of Alberta Chemical Engineering Students Society connects undergraduate chemical engineers through academic programming, industry networking, and student-led initiatives across campus. The society maintains an online store featuring engineering-branded apparel and study materials for its members. CESS facilitates student participation in technical conferences including the Canadian Society for Chemistry's X2026 symposium. The organization focuses on three core areas: academic support through peer mentoring and exam preparation workshops, professional development via industry tours and career panels, and community building through social events. Student leaders coordinate with faculty advisors, industry partners, and alumni to create hands-on learning experiences in analytical, organic, physical, and materials chemistry. The society's executive team manages relationships with engineering firms, research institutions, and professional associations across Alberta. CESS partners with the Alberta Cancer Foundation to organize fundraising campaigns supporting regional cancer research and patient care initiatives. The society's volunteer programs enable chemical engineering students to apply technical skills toward community health projects. Members gain practical experience while contributing to healthcare advancement through organized outreach activities.
