Dave Silverberg is a spoken word poet, journalist, editor, writing coach and solo show artist. He is the author of the poetry collection As Close to the Edge Without Going Over and the editor of the anthology Mic Check: Spoken Word in Canada. He's performed his poetry across Canada, at New York's Bowery Poetry, in London, England to open for Shane Koyczan and in Paris, France. Dave is also the former artistic director and founder of Toronto Poetry Slam and co-directed two Canadian Festivals of Spoken Word. In May, he'll be the writer in residence at the Toronto Public Library's North York Central branch. He's pretty damn excited that one of his poems will be displayed in subways and streetcars across Toronto this year. His favourite band, yet one of his most hated foods, are Red Hot Chili Peppers.
