The most entertaining evening I’ve had in Santa Fe; if you live here, if you're visiting come see the show!!  You won't regret it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently attended the debut of The Exodus Ensemble’s inventive interpretation of Bathsheba, and my girlfriend and I were simply blown away. The cast’s immersion into their characters was both intense and beautifully measured, creating a performance that felt raw yet refined.

The character and plot developments grew in intensity and drew us in deeply to the production. Each scene built upon the last with a rhythm that kept us fully engaged. The set design was particularly striking, incorporating real-time filming and projected elements that added an additional visual narrative beyond what unfolded on stage. This layering of perspectives created a sense of depth and intrigue, as if we were witnessing multiple dimensions of the story at once.

Dramatic performances would be an understatement. The immediacy and connective tissue with the audience was favorably shocking, pulling us into the story in unexpected ways. For some, the fully nude scenes may be surprising, but they were handled with purpose and artistry rather than gratuitousness. If you’re shy about viewing live nude scenes, this play may not be for you — but for those open to it, the boldness adds depth and intensity to the storytelling.

What impressed me most was the ensemble’s fearlessness. They didn’t just perform; they invited us into a shared emotional space where vulnerability, power, and intimacy collided. The production challenged traditional boundaries of theater, making us question not only the characters’ journeys but our own reactions as audience members.

In summation, Exodus Ensemble remains a gem of a company that Santa Fe — and other geographies — will no doubt fully embrace. I look forward to future performances, including Hamlet and themed experiences like "Murder on a Train," aboard Sky Railway (George R.R. Martin’s ongoing train ride adventures). The company’s platform relies on donations, and we felt this close-knit ensemble is very deserving of support, even from those of us who aren’t “high rollers.”

I can’t effectively convey in words how powerful and moving Bathsheba was for us. It was theater at its most daring and transformative.
