Children can start swimming lessons as early as 6 months old, our programme offers classes where parents can participate in the water with their child.

Our lessons are 30 minutes per class
Make sure you arrive promptly (ideally 10 minutes before class is due to start) so you have time to change and be ready for the start of the class.

6 months – 36 months, but this also depends on various factors. We may move baby to a bridging class sooner if they are emotionally and physically ready.
Many experts recommend starting baby swimming lessons around 6 months old. This is because babies can learn valuable skills in the water, such as breath control and safety in the water. Swimming can also help with muscle development and overall development, and can be a bonding experience for parents and babies.

Why is my child progressing slower than others?

Each child learns at their own pace, comfort, and personality. Some children are adventurous, others quiet or shy.
A child might progress slower in swimming due to a combination of physical, psychological, and environmental factors. These factors can include the child's readiness for the next skill level, fear or anxiety in the water, lack of confidence, or a perceived negative experience with swimming. Additionally, the quality of instruction, the structure of the lessons (strict vs. lenient), and the frequency of practice can all impact progress.

If we are late for the lesson, will you extend it into the next lesson?

Unfortunately, not. The next class might be full, not on your child’s level or it is the instructor’s break. Your child will only swim for the time that is left of his/her session.

What will my child need for swimming?

Girls: a full costume (not a bikini) including cap and towel.
Boys: Swimming costume (full suit, speedo, or jammer) including a swimming cap and towel.
We prefer to postpone the use of swimming goggles until the child is water safe for them to be able to open their eyes to see if they fall in by accident.

Is the water heated?

Yes our pools are heated.

If the instructor is not busy with a class can my child starts earlier?

Please do not send you child to the instructor before the start of their scheduled class it will disrupt the next class’s routine and it could possibly be the instructor’s break.

Is the water clean and safe?

Yes. We follow strict guidelines for chlorination, filtration and PH balance. Our pools get tested every day to ensure that we have the best water quality.

Do I get into the water with my child?

If your child is 6 months – 36 months and they are in our baby programme you will get into the pool with them.

How long will it take my child to learn?

There is unfortunately no definitive answer to this question. What we can tell you is that there is no “quick fix” when it comes to learning to swim. The more committed you are to bringing your child to lessons regularly, the faster your child will progress. It is all about constant aquatic exposure. A child would learn to swim as quickly as he / she learns to walk if he / she was exposed to the aquatic environment as frequently as he / she was given the opportunity to practise walking. No child is the same and, as they learn to roll over, crawl, walk and talk at different times, so it is with swimming.
