The Golden Pen - 2025 is Live!
The Golden Pen Writing Award is back and we are very excited to announce this year’s theme, Everyday Magic. Are you a young writer, keen to share your stories with the world? This writing competition is the perfect place to start flexing your creativity. We can’t wait to read the stories you have bubbling away in your brains... Perhaps it’s about a magical creature? Or an everyday object, which is actually a portal to a new world? Maybe you find magic in the beauty of nature, such as a rainbow on a stormy day, or a dandelion full of wishes waiting to be blown into the breeze. The options are as limitless as your imagination. Open across three age categories and blind judged by a star panel of authors, winners will be announced at a special event at Scribblers Festival Family Weekend on 7 May and could win up to $500 in cash and more amazing prizes.
Golden Feather Hunt
Golden Feather Hunt
Scribblers Festival celebrates creativity, literacy and the special place that local libraries hold in the hearts of children and parents. Over the years, with the help of our librarian superheroes, we have hidden over 25,000 feather bookmarks in children’s and young adult books across Western Australia. Feather finders won a variety of prizes, but most of all, fuelled their love of reading and libraries.

About Scribblers
About Scribblers
Scribblers Festival is an annual festival of literature and arts for young people. We believe in the power of books and creativity as tools to help kids and teens better understand the world they live in and the worlds within them. That’s why, each May, we bring together a cast of authors and illustrators from around Australia and the world to tell their tales and reveal what goes into creating them.
