3/23 webinar on children's mental health
3/23 webinar on children's mental health
Many children who need evidence-based mental health care never receive it — not because effective treatments don't exist, but because too few families can access them. Children's literature offers a powerful, often overlooked bridge between psychological science and the communities we serve. Yet most psychologists have never considered writing for a lay audience. Our dynamic panel of authors have each translated their clinical expertise into published books that put evidence-based strategies directly into the hands of children, parents, and caregivers. Together, the panelists will offer a candid look at how to write for non-scientific audiences. They will discuss: 1) their inspiration for writing books for lay audiences, 2) how to translate clinical concepts into clear, age-appropriate language, and 3) practical advice for those interested in this form of community engagement, including navigating the publishing world and maximizing community impact.
