Mecanima are Ba Abat and Doblegänger. Ba Abat, a textile artist and Doblegänger, a computer scientist, play together by exchanging roles and mixing analogical and digital languages, in a continuum of overlapped transformations. They produce artworks that start from Ba Abat’s physical sculptures and Doblegänger’s digital sewings, and then encounter a sequence of digital elaborations that transform them into completely different results.
