Artist Bio
Özlem Güler is an emerging multidisciplinary artist living on Yuin Country, on the South Coast of New South Wales. She was born and raised in Sydney to migrant Turkish-ZaZa Kurdish parents. Her practice includes painting, drawing, and photography. She is best known for her figurative drawings and paintings on canvas and paper, which reflect the foundational fine arts training she received in the 1990s at Meadowbank under the guidance of Jocelyn Maughan, Jeff Rigby and the late Robyn Norling OAM. In 2024, Özlem was a finalist in the Shirley Hannan National Portrait Award, which marks an important milestone in her emerging career. She has participated in regional group and self-organised solo exhibitions with her works collected by private collectors in Australia.
