About Maria Jojatu
Maria Jojatu began her musical endeavors at 4 years old, and entered New England Conservatory's prestigious precollege to start her violin studies. Within their exclusive Chamber Intensive program (CHIPS), she played for Donald Weilerstein, Paul Katz, Kim Kashkashian, and Paul Biss. With her quartet, she won Second Prize in the Boston Music Institute international competition in 2020. She currently studies at the Glenn Gould School of Music (GGS) under Barry Shiffman and Paul Kantor, where she has played for highly-acclaimed violinists such as Ida Kavafian, Stefan Jackiw, Ilya Kaler, Lucie Robert, and Timothy Ying. As a soloist, she performed with the Boston Pops, Kindred Spirits Orchestra, Longwood Symphony, and members of GGS throughout her career. Maria is a Grand Prize recipient of the GGS Chamber Competition, as well as two-time winner of the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association competition, and attended pretigious music festivals "Tanglewood" and "Greenwood."
