This dissertation study explores the experiences of queer and trans care workers in LGBTQIA+-specific social service organizations in New York City.

About the Study

Participation: This is a one-time, 4-hour in-person focus group workshop where we will reflect on care work, share experiences, and imagine more liberatory approaches to queer and trans care

Who can participate: Care workers (social workers, case managers, counselors, peer specialists, organizers, etc.) who identify as LGBTQIA+ and work in LGBTQIA+-specific social service organizations in NYC

Compensation: You will receive a $150 honorarium, plus dinner and snacks, for participating

You may also choose to join the Queering Care Volunteer Advisory Board (QCVAB), which will help guide the project before and after the workshop, including data analysis and shaping how results are shared with the community (see Information Sheet below).

Study Description

-Identify as queer or trans
-Work in any care role at an LGBTQIA+ social service organization in NYC
-Must be at least 18 years old
-Willing to participate in a one-time, 4-hour in-person focus group workshop
