ism (Izzul Syafiq Mazlan) is a Malaysian independent singer-songwriter whose music lives in the spaces between modern & traditional. his songs & vocals carry an intimacy, moving with themes of love & moments that shape us. beginning on SoundCloud, his early demos found their way into small corners of the internet before stepping into Kuala Lumpur’s live scene with performances at Merdekarya, The Bee, fono & No Black Tie. his performance of 'Plastic Hearts' on BalconyTV introduced his voice to a wider audience, leading to invitations abroad. since then, ism has brought his music to wellness retreats like Kamalaya Koh Samui, theatre stages at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) & arts communities such as Corban Estate in New Zealand. his debut album 'dwi', co-produced with Jonathan Mono & JAIE, moves between Malay & English, blending authentic storytelling with an exploration of opposites & dualities.
