IPA opens call for nominations for inaugural Freedom of Expression Defenders Award – International Publishers Association
Publishers associations and publishers are invited for the first time to submit nominations to the International Publishers Association's new prize that aims to recognise people, companies, organisations or coalitions who are promoting the freedom of expression, the freedom to publish and the freedom to read - the trinity of freedoms. Nominations close on 31 March 2026.

Reading comes in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and contexts. So when we talk about the ‘benefits of reading’ what do we mean exactly? Having worked on harmonising reading surveys, I look here at the idea of a ‘taxonomy of reading’ in conversation with Christoph Bläsi of the Johannes Gutenberg University.
