Ilya Mazaev is a producer, composer, and audio engineer who works primarily with Jazz, Electronica, and Alternative Rock, with credits ranging from classical recordings and EDM to film scores and video game soundtracks. He also works as a pro audio consultant, helping businesses with both audio equipment solutions and audio branding — composing and producing custom soundtracks tailored to the specific needs of each project.

As a producer and engineer Ilya worked with Mujuice, The Black Delta Movement, Snow Raven (long-listed for Grammy 2026), Aik Grigoryan, Lester Otto, film composer Vladimir Martynov, Comme un Cœur, The Wands Collective and many other acts. After leaving his first job in an economic research institute in 2008 and graduating Berklee Online School Ilya started making records full time. In 2014 he co-produced a direct-to-vinyl session with Cut2Kill (Dza & Mujuice) at Metropolis Studios London with the legendary Tim Young (Massive Attack, The Smiths, Sade) at the mastering desk. He also co-produced and engineered 'Yet' (long-listed for Grammy 2023 in 3 categories) and 'Kingdom of Love' (2025) albums for Nash Albert.

Currently Ilya is a subject leader for Audio Engineering in Digital Renaissance Music Institute in Dubai, UAE. Over the years Ilya permanently worked in other institutions that teach music production and sound engineering: – Theatrical Academy of Arts GITIS (2011– 2020) – Sound Design Institute (2012 – 2023) – Sound Art & Sound Design at Higher School of Economics (2019 – 2022) – Moscow Music School & University of Hertfordshire BsC (Hons) program (2018 – 2022)

Apart from that he regularly gives lectures & seminars for various brands and companies including Avid, Roland Corporation, PMC, Chord Electronics, Next Hi-Fi, Institute of Musical Initiatives and others.
