DO: Be Diligent with Sun Protection

This is non-negotiable! Sun exposure is the primary trigger for melasma. If you're not rigorously protecting your skin from the sun, any other treatments you're using will be far less effective.

Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) every single day, even if it's cloudy or you're indoors near windows.
Reapply every 2-3 hours, especially if you're sweating or swimming.
Seek shade during peak sun hours (10 AM - 4 PM).
Wear wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses when outdoors.
Think of sun protection as the foundation of your melasma treatment. Without it, you're building on sand!
