RSVP for Installing Updates to ECPA Event
Join us on Friday, March 6, from 8:30am to 2:00pm for a one-day widely attended gathering marking the 40th anniversary of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA). Enacted four decades ago, ECPA continues to shape surveillance, privacy, and law-enforcement access—despite a technological landscape that has changed dramatically since the statute’s passage. Confirmed speakers include: Susan Landau, Michael Dreeben, David Kris, Jennifer Daskal, Aaron Cooper, Jim Dempsey, Paul Ohm, Stephanie Pell, and Richard Salgado Featuring leading scholars, practitioners, and former government officials, the program will examine how courts and policymakers are interpreting a law written for an earlier era of communications, where it falls short today, and what reforms may be necessary to address modern digital technologies. The event will include keynote remarks and moderated author panels and will be held in a hybrid format, with options for both in-person and virtual participation.
