We recently assisted with an emergency intake of 8 ferrets. We need to get them all seen at the vet, as well as get a few implants for adrenal disease. Help our resident geckos feel safe, warm, and well-fed. 🦎 Your gift goes directly toward upgrading to larger enclosures, getting new UVB heating and lighting, and nutrition for the small reptiles in our care at Ferrets and Friends Sanctuary. Blimp Eye Graft Fundraiser
Blimp Eye Graft Fundraiser
Blimp saw the ophthalmologist today at Blue Pearl in Langhorne. After weighing our options an eye graft seems like the best course of action. Their quote was between $4500 and $6000. We need to raise at least $2,400 by the end of this month to go ahead and get the surgery done so we know we can make the payments. If Blimp doesn’t get this done he will be at risk of his eye perforating or rupturing and this would most likely lead to an emergency visit and having his eye removed since most eye doctors generally only operate during a 9-5 week day type schedule and they would possibly not be available to fix the eye. We would like to avoid this. Having the surgery gives him a 95% success rate of being healed and keeping his vision, which is very important to us due to his age and the fact that he will have chronic eye issues for the rest of his life.
