About Ethan Cole
Ethan Cole started his musical career at age 11 on the violin. After falling in love with the sound of the viola, he switched instruments at 13. Throughout high school, he would study with Benjamin Chilton, be a part of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, multiple chamber groups, and TMEA Region Orchestras. He currently studies at Stephen F. Austin State University, under Dr. Jennifer Dalmas and Melissa Nabb. Here, he would also join the Longview and Texarkana Symphony Orchestras. In his time at SFA, he would go to NSO-SMI 2024, where he successfully auditioned for the principal chair. At NSO-SMI, he would study with Tsuna Sakamoto, and get chamber coaching from Ben Foster, the principal violist of the National Symphony Orchestra. In his senior year, Ethan is taking auditions for his master's degree and summer festivals, and only time will tell where he will end up next.
