Our Rules

Maria Brendle is an Oscar nominated writer/director based in Zurich, whose character-driven films explore the intersection of identity, morality and social constraint. Her debut feature, Frieda’s Case, premiered to an eight minute standing ovation at the 2024 Zurich Film Festival and was released theatrically in Switzerland in Jan 2025. She received an Oscar nomination in 2022 for her short Ala Kachuu - Take and Run, which screened at more than 70 festivals and won over 40 prizes. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Mariana Mendez is a NY-based producer who has produced several award-winning films including Humo (Smoke), which shortlisted for the 96th Oscars and nominated for an Annie. From 2017-2025, she led and supported Oscar campaigns for clients ranging from major studios to independent shorts, resulting in multiple nominations and several wins. She holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
