Welcome to Brain Bee at Virginia Tech! We are so happy you're interested in participating in this event. Here's a rundown of what to expect:

Our competition and event day will be March 2nd, 2025, at the Virginia Tech campus. We welcome all high school students from the southwest Virginia area! Our day will be split into sections: doing neuroscience trivia, engaging in brain labs, and eating pizza with the School of Neuroscience faculty! Orientation Presentation

Brain Bee originated as an attempt to spark interest in neuroscience. Since then, Brain Bee has grown into an international neuroscience competition! 

Beyond the competition, Brain Bee provides students with the opportunity to meet professors of neuroscience, engage in lab demos where we learn more about our (and other) brains, and offer resources for interested students to learn more about the ways we think, learn, and just about everything else. 

The Brain Bee Club at Virginia Tech hosts a chapter of the competition, and everybody is invited. If you are interested in neuroscience, would like to meet professors & students, or try out lab demos, check out the presentation linked below. All of the questions we ask are sourced from these books, so you won't have any surprise content. Additionally, we will send out helpful study materials as the event nears.
