Irish Independent: Ruth Brennan's POI story
Ruth Brennan, a marine social scientist in Dublin, was 36 when she noticed that her periods were starting to get irregular. “I didn’t really think much of it for the first two years because I knew that stress could make you miss periods and things like that,” she says. It was a massage therapist who suggested that Ruth should get her bloods done. “So I did, and the GP said to me that there was nothing to worry about. The follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) was a little high, but she put that down to stress as I was doing a PhD.”
