APPOINTMENT > CFA Women’s Advisory Committee
I am excited to join the Country Fire Authority (CFA) Women's Advisory Committee as a district representative. It seems fitting that my first meeting was in the week leading up to International Women's Day 2024, and what a great meeting it was! The energy and passion was exhilarating - I can't wait to add my contribution to better women's inclusion in emergency services. The Women’s Advisory Committee (WAC) was established to provide a forum for representatives of CFA women to directly engage with the CEO, Chief Officer and other senior CFA representatives on opportunities to support diversity and inclusion within the organisation. #iwd #iwd2024 #internationalwomensday2024 #inspireinclusion

AWARD > Hume Outstanding Community Leadership 2023
I am so incredibly honoured to be the recipient of the Hume City Council Outstanding Community Leadership Award 2023 for my contribution to my local community in Kalkallo. Moving to Kalkallo over five years ago, it was paddocks and we hardly knew anyone. Fast forward to today and it’s a thriving community. It’s been wonderful getting to know so many people and organisations in the area across the years. To be nominated by my fellow community members for this award is very humbling. To all my fellow community members, when we work together we achieve great things. Thanks for your continued support and participation in community-led activities and advocacy work designed to improve our lives. Thank you to my family, friends and key community stakeholders who have been incredibly supportive in my community advocacy journey. I am committed to contributing to a kind, connected and empowered community - Working with my community, for our community. | 76 comments on LinkedIn

Today is International Firefighters Day. Across the globe it’s a day to celebrate the selfless work of all firefighters and show our gratitude to firefighters for the daily sacrifices they make to protect life and property. It has been a number of years since I’ve been an operational firefighter with Country Fire Authority (CFA). Today I contribute to the organisation in non-operational roles to support the amazing volunteer firefighters of the Kalkallo brigade, and its an absolute privilege. Our volunteer firefighters train hard and leave their families at any time of the day to respond to incidents in our community. They help to keep us all safe. They are selfless. They are community-minded. Today I thank the Kalkallo volunteer firefighters, and all the CFA firefighters for their contribution.

The power of community advocacy is being celebrated in Melbourne's booming outer north, where a newly built slip lane is shaving off an average of 30 minutes from the morning drive. The locals who championed the change say there are lessons for other growth areas.

With a new city that will be home to 380,000 residents planned for the north, there are growing concerns for how the surrounding road network will cope with an influx of cars, trucks and motorcycles.
