Asset Forfeiture Webinar Registration - Zoom
This webinar will advance the Center’s ongoing conversation on the weaponization of asset forfeiture as a tool to suppress and destabilize environmental justice organizations. Using current developments in Ecuador as a case study, particularly as they relate to environmental movements, the discussion will examine how legal and financial mechanisms are being deployed to undermine community-based advocacy. Moderator David Cordero-Heredia, Visiting Fellow at the Yale School of the Environment, will draw insights from panelists Efrén Guerrero Salgado, Law Professor, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador and Belén Páez, CEO Fundación Pachamama who have direct knowledge of these developments in Ecuador.
