WFWPI was founded in 1992 and expanded to over 100 countries. Only five years later, WFWPI was granted General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC). Started in 1947, the NGO CSW Geneva was a contributor to the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the Vienna Declaration on Violence Against Women in 1994. The vision is elevating and improving the lives of women and girls in the world.
