The overarching goal of the Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Health's UBC Learning Circle (UBCLC) is to improve Indigenous health and to reduce health inequities between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in British Columbia and beyond through the ongoing delivery of sessions that feature Indigenous health & wellness topics (mental, physical, emotional, and physical).1) Learning Circles: Oriented towards health care workers in First Nations communities, Learning Circles generally focus on enhancing professional skills or sharing community knowledge. 2) Research Circles: Provide the opportunity for health researchers, academics, students, and professionals (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) to engage with communities in an effort to increase the transparency of the research process and enhance the accessibility to research results 3) Youth Circles: Encourage youth, aged 12-29, to connect and share their knowledge with each other and with health professionals via technology.
