Founded by Jennifer Eriksson in 2000 The Marais Project has a focus on the music written for the viola da gamba - both old and new. The ensemble has released 9 commercial CDs and present Australia's longest running viola da gamba recital series. In 2024 they celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Jennifer Eriksson formed The Marais Project in 2000 with the original aim of performing the complete works of Marin Marais, the great French baroque viola da gambist and composer. As of 2024 we are 85% through this wonderful task. Along the way we have embarked on a number of side-projects - as our You Tube Channel demonstrates. We hope you enjoy the music we make. Our albums on the MOVE Records label are available at: www.maraisproject.com.au or from Spotify, Applemusic, iTunes and Bandcamp. Our most recent recording, 'Nordic Moods & Baroque Echoes' was made in Stockholm and released in 2024.
