Veteran Artist Bio
Reginald “Reggie” Green is a U.S. Navy veteran, artist, and instructor with the Veterans Art Project (VETART) in Vista, California. After fifteen years of military service and a medical retirement due to chronic pain and mental health challenges, he discovered the healing power of art through ceramics. What began as personal therapy became a mission to help other veterans heal through creative expression.
Reggie’s work is deeply inspired by ancient civilizations—Egyptian, Moorish, Mayan, and African—whose symbols and stories reflect strength, wisdom, and resilience. His sculptures often portray warriors, kings, and queens—powerful figures that embody endurance, courage, and transformation.
Through his art and teaching, Reggie continues his service by helping others rediscover identity, purpose, and peace beyond the uniform. “Art is my medicine, my voice, and my mission,” he says. “It’s how I turn pain into purpose and pass healing on to others.”
