The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is an educational facility that, along with the Recology San Francisco Artist in Residence (AIR) Program, forms a key part of the Sustainability Education Program. During a public education tour that begins in the ELC, visitors learn what happens to the materials placed in curbside recycling, compost, and landfill bins, and discover practical ways to reduce waste and conserve natural resources.The Recology San Francisco Artist in Residence (AIR) Program is an art and education initiative that supports Bay Area artists. As part of the Sustainability Education Program, this four-month residency offers a rich and immersive environment for artists to develop their work while actively engaging with sustainability and community outreach.
