Please fill out the application below to apply for the 2023 RiFS backyard food garden program. This program spans 2 years (March 2023 - December 2024) and provides the following to selected participants: • (up to) two 3'x5' raised garden beds filled with organic soil and and compost • seeds/seedlings • gardening tool kit • hands-on education • The Garden Primer handbook • access to free and reduced-price workshops provided by Grow Pittsburgh We are currently accepting participants from Wilmerding, North Braddock, Turtle Creek, East McKeesport, North Versailles, and East Pittsburgh, PA. Would you like to help build gardens? Help grow an educational gardening program? Learn about gardening while assisting a master gardener? ReImagine Food Systems in a volunteer-led program that builds gardens for people who want to grow food in their own yards. RiFS focuses our efforts in areas impacted by environmental and social inequity. Hands-on gardening volunteers should be able to help on-site within the Turtle Creek Watershed, PA. Our planning meetings are held via zoom, so our planning volunteers are able to join from near and far.
