I have known Proctor for over 9 years. I employed their help because I did not want to stress myself with the financial aspects but to stay focused on my primary objectives - and in the long run this became one of my best decisions ever.
To explain: as an expat (and contractor), the financial flexibility was essential - I did not want to rely on a national pension scheme or on a local bank/fund; also, due the high focus and energy invested in my primary targets (mainly work), I was not motivated to explore an area so much outside of my knowledge and comfort zone - hence my decision to delegate the financial part to professional services. Last but not least, my financial discipline was almost non-existent, therefore was the right time to force myself to save. (in time Proctor helped me tremendously with this mindset)
The immediate benefit of having someone taking care of your finances is ADVICE (and quality brainstorming). Every 6 months you have someone capable of "reading" various feeds (like international events which may alter the markets), express it in layman's terms, then aligning various bits (like your short- and long-term objectives, income sources, future plans, job status and prospects, etc.) in a more stable matrix. Proctor (well, my agent Will) worked hard to PROPERLY inform me, to raise my financial awareness and to trigger a more mature response from me in regards to the future. In time he strengthened my financial discipline and helped me build my confidence.
Another benefit is the transparency, the speed and the quality of/in communication. If I am worried, or I want to brainstorm or I am simply curious about a certain event (or future action), I just drop an email to Will and I will have an answer in no time. Or I can book Will and have a chat. And here is the gain: is a very direct, honest, down to earth communication, aiming to solve problems (if any) - and not a "let's be nice with clients" one. As I said, this came as a surprise: expectations to communicate with a financial (or legal) corporation are usually low, due the rigid legacy layers, the painful bureaucratic processes, the traces of arrogance and pedantry of "the professionals", etc. - you know the drill :) Yet Proctor had none of these. I was always helped, properly advised, taken care of, and was all with a certain warmness and care.
Another experience I want to share here: I recently wanted to join the  "house owners" club. And of course, the whole end-to-end process is quite stressful - starting with the planning/budgeting. The house I wanted required a deposit - and I had like 30% of it. Moreover, the timing was extremely important. Proctor was absolutely sensational: it started with a call (me seeking advice, not being sure I can get it done). It continued with Will explaining to me what was under the hood of such a project (plus some estimations), and how I can use my 9 years fund as a deposit. And a few weeks later (when I had the green light from the seller), it ended with PROCTOR unblocking and sending the money _in a few days_. It was an insane pace, and all the several departments involved understood this requirement. A fantastic efficiency and teamwork, and a truly customer-oriented mindset.
Like I said in the beginning, teaming up with Proctor and having someone like Will to take care of my financial wellbeing, is one of my best decisions ever.

Will has been our Financial Advisor for a number of years. His service is exemplary. With regular reviews, updates and flying out to meet us in person.
He has proven to be very knowledgeable and will go out of his way to answer our questions and help us wherever possible.
