Stakeholder buy-in and support are critical in a successful Breakfast After the Bell (BAB) program. This webinar shared examples and best practices on how to engage students, principals, and the local community around BAB. Hear from Deb Mackey, Food Service Director at Mechanicville City School District in New York, serving approximately 1300 students in one elementary school and one Jr./Sr. high school, as well as Fausat Rahman-Davies and Kristina Kraushaar in Rialto Unified School District in California, serving approximately 25,500 students in three comprehensive high schools, one alternative/adult education school, one continuation high school, five middle schools, 19 elementary schools and 20 preschools (on elementary campuses).

Breakfast After the Bell has been shown to increase breakfast participation, decrease chronic absenteeism, and improve overall well-being for students. This webinar is intended for anyone that is interested in learning more about starting a Breakfast After the Bell program (breakfast in the classroom, grab & go breakfast, or second chance breakfast). Join us to hear from Ryan Cengel, Director of Food & Nutrition Services at Manor Independent School District in Texas (9,270 students across 15 schools), and Warren Ryan, Assistant Director of Nutrition Services at San Bernardino City Unified School District in California (46,509 students across 76 schools). They’ll share their experiences—both the challenges and the successes—building support for and launching their district’s Breakfast After the Bell (BAB) programs. You’ll learn how to lay the groundwork for a strong and sustainable BAB program.
