My Interview for Golden Globes Women in Hollywood
Animator Ngâendo Mukii found her authentic African voice outside her home country of Kenya. She left Africa to study at Rhode Island School of Design in the US, and also holds a Master of Arts in Animation from the Royal College of Art in London. Coming home to Kenya, she saw her country and her people from a new perspective and was able to tell their stories in her animation work â like Yellow Fever, Nairobi Berries and now Kesho Pia Ni Siku (Tomorrow is Another Day) â in a more authentic way. As she says, âI feel I understand myself as a Kenyan and as an African more by being outside.â
