More often than not, we can tell a lot about a person by what they choose to see in us. The same is true even for ourselves. For the most part, we don’t see the world as it is, we see it as we are. Knowing this we must constantly check ourselves to see if indeed our thoughts and perceptions are in line with the reality of events outside of ourselves. It also means that we must not take the opinions of others personally because what they say is more of a reflection of their internal state of affairs than it is about the truth outside of themselves. People project a lot, self awareness is the remedy.
