I teach Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and my main creative outlet is poetry. Getting back to photography after a long hiatus (my last camera used film) as an alternative mode of crafting and conveying narratives in my beautiful, often misunderstood, and misrepresented homeland along the Texas/Mexico borderlands. Poems in Pilgrimage, The Acentos Review, Queen Mob's Tea House, Imaniman: Poets writing in the Anzalduan Borderlands, among others.
