Carleton University Pop-Up Hair Salon Stylist & Barber Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Carleton University Pop-Up Hair Salon for Black students! This initiative, organized by The ACB Experience, in collaboration with the Racialized & International Student Experience (RISE) Centre, Links to Locs, GSA, and CUSA. We aim to provide culturally affirming hair care to Black students who may not otherwise have access to these services. This event will take place on Monday March 23rd at Nideyinan Atrium, Carleton University campus; 9am-5pm (if anything changes you will be updated immediately). All stylists will be provided with a styling station, a light lunch, and an opportunity to promote their business. To ensure smooth coordination, please fill out this form in full so we can confirm your participation and align your services with the event’s structure. Join us at the RISE Centre for a fun and creative evening of crafting and community! At this hands-on craft night, you’ll have the chance to tie-dye and customize tote bags using fabric paint, markers, and small embroidery options. ✨ Tote bags will be provided (limited supply) — or feel free to bring your own white item (such as a t-shirt, tote bag, or fabric item) to tie-dye and decorate. Whether you’re looking to relax, get creative, or connect with other students, this is a great opportunity to make something unique and enjoy a welcoming community space. 📅 Date: Tuesday, March 10 ⏰ Time: 3:30 – 6:30 PM 📍 Location: RISE Centre All materials will be provided while supplies last. Whether you love bold styles or something simple and elegant, you’ll leave with a custom pair of earrings made by you. Join HOLAS and RISE in learning bachata!💃🏽❤️ We'll be learning & dancing with Giselle Perla, founder of De La Isla Ottawa, for a FREE class for students! The workshop will go over the history of bachata, the musical instruments used for the music, how it can empower women, followed by a beginner-friendly bachata class and a social after.
