The term “Leave of Absence” (LOA) refers to an absence from the university. Students on LOA are not enrolled in any course, are not considered bonafide students, and are not allowed to enter the campus except as occasional visitors to transact with certain offices.

What are the procedures of filing a LOA?

No, students on Leave of Absence (LOA) are not permitted to enroll and study in another educational institution. No course taken during LOA from another school may be credited towards the completion of the program at our university.			

During LOA, can i transfer and study in different schools?			

If you are an undergraduate student and you don't enroll for a term, you are assumed to be on continuous enrollment until your program is completed. Any break in enrollment requires the filing of a Leave of Absence. Students who do not enroll for a term without an approved LOA will be considered AWOL (Absent Without Leave) and will be assessed a returnee fee upon resumption of enrollment.			

What happens if I don't file for a Leave of Absence and just don't enroll for a term?			

The refund deadlines and corresponding percentages are as follows:

Before the start of the term: 100% refund
End of Week 1 of the term: 90% refund, 10% retention fee
End of Week 2 of the term: 50% refund, 50% retention fee

No refund shall be made after the second week of the term, regardless of whether the student has attended classes or not. All checks for tuition refund, regardless of date of dropping within the applicable refund period, are released at the Accounting Office.

1. Students with inactive DLSU Gmail account must send the email using their personal email address and attach a copy of your DLSU ID to the Academic Programming Officer of their college
