Kubernetes doesnt handle monitoring out of the box. When you setup a Kubernetes cluster, The Metrics Server is one of the important add-on components that you deploy. - It collects real-time CPU and memory usage metrics from all nodes and pods in the cluster - Provides these metrics through the Metrics API - HPA & VPA use it for current resource utilization data 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: Metrics server stores only recent metrics (typically last few minutes) and isn't meant for long-term storage For production monitoring, you would typically also have tools like Prometheus for historical metrics. ---- Want to learn k8s with similar illustrations?
