    Our team, Error 404 Team name not found, focused on the lift & escalator accessibility challenge set by Network Rail& TfL. The solution allows passengers with accessibility requirements to see lift and escalator status, in real-time, and plan their journey around it through existing apps like Trainline, CityMapper, and National Rail Enquiries thanks to the scalable API the team built.

The solution allows passengers with accessibility requirements to see lift and escalator status, in real-time, and plan their journey around it through existing apps like Trainline, CityMapper, and National Rail Enquiries thanks to the scalable API the team built.

    Additionally, the team looked at solving the lift prioritisation works across the country by using CCTV camera footage to count the number of people using each asset in each station. I built this Computer Vision Model in Python using YOLO object detection with OpenCV.

  • BigSurv 2020: Converting the Twitter API into a high quality panel via machine learning

    The project aimed to show how twitter could be used as a high frequency polling input for political events. Based on historical tweets collected leading up to the Brexit referendum, I built all the feature extraction models to feed the forecasting model. This includes, an NLP pipeline to predict the political stance of every tweet in the dataset. Using the twitter pictures, demographics were extracted using a computer vision pipeline. Location was inferred based on the given profile location…
