I am a photographic artist, and have been creating fine art for nearly 40 years.
I have developed an approach to photography I call Abstract Realism. It places importance on honesty in your images: what you see is just what the camera was pointed at. There are no filters, post-processing effects, or other manipulation. The interest in the image comes from what existed when you clicked the shutter button.
While art is my passion, it is technology that pays the bills. I started programming in 1974 (!), and have been working professionally as a developer, consultant, DBA, and team leader for 30 years.
I have been working with the Python programming language for the last 15 years. Besides being powerful and flexible, it also comes along with a great community. While almost any programming language can get the job done, I've learned that finding the right community of people will make your life much more fulfilling. Let's face it: technology can be cold sometimes; adding the human element to it makes it, well, more human.
