Professional Projects

The videos below are all short form videos for MWPR to use to promote the Pike District in North Bethesda, Maryland on its social channels.

Below are videos I made during my internship at AAMBC in Atlanta, Georgia, where I would help promote black writers from various backgrounds. During my internship I learned a great deal about collaborative projects and different strategies when approaching certain types of videos.

University Projects

These are projects I worked on while attending Full Sail University (class of 2024). I had a great deal of exposure to all aspects of sound and video editing and I am very proud of the work I was involved in while attending this school. I consider all of these projects posted here to be standouts.

This was one of the few projects I made completely on my own. The assignment was to make a short documentary about any topic and I chose to make mine about a small charity organization I’ve been following for a few years. I was able to get in touch and interview some of the members and it was an overall smooth experience. The assignment required the video to be no longer than 7 minutes so I had to cut out a large majority of the interviews, but I believe I was able to tell a cohesive story despite the limitation.

This was for an assignment about editing a documentary style video. The footage was provided to me and I had to make a short narrative out of it. This assignment was a bit of a challenge as some of the footage was lacking in good audio quality. However, I believe this project turned out fairly well and was a great learning experience.

This video was one of the first projects I worked on at Full Sail. Students were given the option to choose one of three different sets of footage and were required to make a short film out of said footage. This was the first time I had edited something with raw footage recorded with professional equipment.

The last major project I worked on at Full Sail. I was involved in the filming of this with my role as VTR. I was then tasked with editing the film and it was the biggest challenge yet because it was all done on AVID Media Composer. While I knew how to use AVID, I am far more adept with Adobe Premiere. However, after each step like with color correction, audio, and cutting, I felt far more comfortable using AVID and was able to make a product I can be proud of. (Profanity warning.)

Personal Projects

These are projects that I have made on my own time whenever I felt inspiration strike. These videos were made for artistic expression and gave me ways to hone and refine my editing skills. These are the projects I am most proud and I continue to work on new projects to express my creativity.

This video is one of my more recent projects. I have always been a huge fan of Sonic The Hedgehog and I wanted to make a video that expressed my feelings towards the series while also challenging myself with certain editing techniques. In the process of making this, I even learned new editing techniques and would love to implement them in future projects. This is the first time I’ve ever made a video like this and I’m very happy with how it turned out especially with the edits at 1:19 and 2:46.

This was a video I recently made as a way to see if I could edit something in the style of a television recap. Every week, me and a group of friends will get together and watch a story focused video game. Whenever it is my turn, I tend to go above and beyond and show the group games as if they were movies. I have been doing the Halo video game series and because there was a lot of time since my last turn, I decided to make this video beforehand as a way to refresh memories while also challenging myself with a new editing style.

The videos from here onward were made a few years ago. For a long time I’ve watched many videos of people talking about their own experiences with certain video games and I wanted to make my own. For these videos I wanted to be informative, descriptive, and clear about my experiences while also injecting a bit of humor every now and then. I stopped making these types of videos because they took a long time to make between recording, scripting, and editing all while I was attending college. Should the opportunity arise, I would be open to making more of these types of videos whether it be for myself or for another person because I’ve learned a lot since these videos and could apply new editing techniques to them.

(Profanity warning for all videos.)
