Danielle HolkeLong before Etsy, a nine-year-old Danielle Holke turned her grandmother’s knitting lessons into a thriving side hustle, outfitting her fourth grade classmates’ Cabbage Patch Kids in custom knits. In 2008, she launched KnitHacker, a quirky corner of the internet that has since grown into a thriving community, attracting more than a million yarn-lovers each year. Her work has been featured in popular publications such as Simply Knitting, MAKE Magazine, Knit Now, and Vogue Knitting. She is the author of “Knits & Pieces,” and in 2024, she contributed two patterns to the book “100 Knitted Tiles” (David & Charles).

Beyond her work as a maker, Danielle is also a marketing pro who has collaborated with an eclectic mix of artists, yarn bombers, filmmakers, pattern designers, and yarn companies. Most recently, she’s teamed up with fellow knitter Katie Freeman to launch a new creative venture, The Two-Headed Calf.

Fun fact: Danielle once traveled all the way to the Falkland Islands, where sheep outnumber people 155 to 1 – and the wool truly lives up to the hype.
